The Word Doc is a Boston writing and editing company founded by Beverly Zibrak. Not coming from a computer background but rather a language background, Beverly is first and foremost a writer and editor who is an information specialist.
Beverly founded The Word Doc in 2010. Although she continues to do technical writing and editing, Beverly now writes and edits for general business. She has worked on projects in the software, advertising, financial, educational, and retail sectors.
Beverly has the ability to learn various knowledge domains quickly. With experience in an array of companies, she has developed the ability to write new or revise existing material transforming it into clear, accessible, and engaging content that is a pleasure to read.
Beverly worked in the computer software industry for over 20 years, first as a technical writer, then as a documentation manager and director. She often works with small firms; therefore, she understands the needs of small business.
She holds a BA in English from the University of Rochester and an MA in Linguistics from New York University. After graduate school, Beverly taught English as a Second Language for five years at a program housed at Babson College. She also piloted an introductory computer literacy course.
